Bio	What rating is your journal? brought to you by Quizilla Here are some questions that I often get asked by people. You're physically disabled, right? Yes What's your disability? I was born in 1975 with Nemaline Myopathy, which is a rare form of Muscular Dystrophy. MD is a disease that kills muscles. I'm the oldest survivor in the world with this type. I try to live each day the best that I can. Is your disease fatal? Eventually it'll kill me, but I've been stable for the past 15-20 years and I don't plan on giving up. I was originally given a year to live. I'm pretty sure that I'm still alive. Do you live in a group home? No, I live in a 1 bedroom apartment in downtown Ottawa with 24 hour care. My helper follows me everywhere, which makes dating even tougher. It's better than living in a hospital, which I did for 19 years. Got siblings? I have a brother and a sister that are both older than me. How long have you been writing? About 8 years ago it started as a bet between me and a friend to see who could write a poem about heartbreaks. I won and the rest is history. Why do you write? I write because it helps to release emotions and hopefully to make others think. Why do you write here on DJ? I first found this place through a former friend of mine. At the time, I wasn't too keen on the idea that I'd have mostly teenagers (no offense) reading about my life, but I quickly started to connect with them. It's been a rough road at times here. I've lost at least one friend and I've had to justify what I write here on several occasions. Even through all that, I'm not stopping. The number of people that read my journal and/or comment on it, amazes me. I think my attitude, my outlook on life and writing style attracts people from around the world. What inspires you? The people in my life and the world itself. Alot of things have happened in this world and are still going on. I think about those things and they inspire me to keep going. What is your goal? My main goal in life is to continue writing and hopefully continue my climb up the literary ladder and one day get paid for what I love to do Do you have any writing projects on the go right now? I'm writing a one man show starring myself. The play will be about my life and the hardships that I've faced as well as my triumphs. What made you decide to do this? I want to expand my writing and see how well I'd adjust to scriptwriting. What do you look for in a woman? Right now I don't look for anything because I have a wonderful girlfriend. Some of the qualities that attracted me to her is that she's smart, caring, understanding, loving and of course, beautiful. Can you have sex? Yes, I have a normal sex life. How do you want the world to know and/or remember you? As a person that is lucky enough to be able to use words to make people notice. Even though, they're often misunderstood by those that are supposed to understand me. I'd also like to be remembered as a person that refused to give up on things, even if the odds were against me. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I've been told that I have a pretty unique outlook on life.
